Woman tells police she stole $300

A woman was arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft yesterday at Ala Moana Center, accused of stealing cash from a cash register at a store, police said.

The woman told officers she had committed five other thefts, police said.

Store security officers had placed a marked bill in the register, and it was found on the 43-year-old Honolulu woman when they stopped her outside the store.

The cash was concealed in her purse, police said. The woman told police she stole $300.
