A 33-year-old Florida man was indicted by the O'ahu grand jury this morning on charges of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl here after he met her through the Internet and flew to Honolulu.

Anthony Scott Waterman was indicted on 13 counts of first-degree and third-degree sex assault.

City Deputy Prosecutor Vickie Kapp told Circuit Judge Derrick Chan that Waterman has 11 prior arrests outside of Hawai'i. She said Waterman spent a week with the girl here before he took her to a hotel room Nov. 19 and sexually assaulted her.

Chan approved Waterman's bail of $250,000.

Kapp later said she did not immediately have any other information about the arrests, including whether any resulted in a conviction.

The charges include six counts of first-degree sex assault, which each carry a maximum 20-year prison term.

Waterman will be arraigned later, at which time he is expected to plead not guilty and get a trial date.
