East shores still under high surf advisory

Advertiser Staff

A high surf advisory remains in effect for east-facing shores until noon today, the National Weather Service said.

Surf along eastern shores will be 4 to 8 feet this morning, with northern shores seeing surf in 8 to 12 feet.

There's also good surf along western shores, where surf heights could raise to 5 to 8 feet. Southern shores will see surf 2 to 4 feet.

There is a small out of season south swell that will slowly diminish tomorrow and Thursday. A new northwest swell is arriving this afternoon and is expected to peak later tonight, and then slowly diminish tomorrow.

Larger northwest and north swells arriving tomorrow night may produce surf above the high surf advisory threshold along north-facing shores Thursday.
