H-1 lanes close again tonight for overpass work

Advertiser Staff

The first night of construction on the 'Aiea pedestrian bypass bridge over the H-1 Freeway went smoothly and without traffic backup as a result of lane closures, according to state transportation spokesman Scott Ishikawa.

The only deviation from the original plan was that contractor Hawaiian Dredging chose to shut down the extreme left townbound lane as a precautionary measure, in addition to the two extreme-left 'Ewa-bound lanes.

The same three lanes will close from 9 p.m. tonight through 3:15 a.m. tomorrow.
