Hawaiian Telcom to buy $1M of network software

Hawaiian Telcom has committed to purchase more than $1 million worth of software from Fine Point Technologies to enhance customer support and smooth the transition of users to new network services, according to a news release from Fine Point Technologies.Fine Point's software will "allow Hawaiian Telcom to reduce customer support costs while enhancing the quality of experience realized by broadband and dialup customers," New York-based Fine Point said in the release.
Fine Point's software was used in the launch and implementation of Hawaiian Telcom's new high-speed Internet network and e-mail platform. Support from Fine Point included the development of self-installation CDs for new subscribers, and administrative applications to help Hawaiian Telcom's on-island technical support staff better serve customers.
