Surf's up all around the island

Advertiser Staff

The current out of season south swell will continue through tomorrow, the National Weather Service said, and large northwest and north swells are expected to arrive tonight.

The surf resulting from these combined swells will likely be above the high surf advisory threshold along north shores from late tonight through tomorrow night. Another moderate northwest swell arriving Saturday will gradually diminish by Sunday.

Translation: Get the surf boards out and get ready for some great waves.

Today's surf forecast calls for 7- to 9-foot surf along north shores through this afternoon, west shores to see surf 4 to 7 feet, east shores to get surf 3 to 5 feet and south shore surf to be 3 to 5 feet.
