Funeral services for motorcycle officer set for Dec. 8

A funeral will be held Dec. 8 for fallen Honolulu police motorcycle officer Steve Favela, who suffered fatal injuries while escorting President Bush's motorcade Nov. 21.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. until noon at Borthwick Mortuary and services will begin at noon. It will be followed by a procession from Borthwick, past police headquarters on Alapa'i Street and on to the Mililani Cemetery.

Favela died at 9:55 a.m. Sunday from injuries he suffered at Hickam Air Force Base Nov. 21 when he crashed on a rain-slickened road as he escorted the president's motorcade to a breakfast with troops.
