Man, 28, pleads guilty in attack of teenage girl

By KEN KOBAYASHI

A man who was a delivery driver with Big Brothers Big Sisters Of Honolulu pleaded guilty today to abducting a 17-year-old girl from downtown Honolulu in 2004, injecting her with methamphetamine and using her bank card to get cash.

Anton Myklebust II, 28, also was charged with raping the girl, but sexual assault charges will be dropped as part of a plea agreement.

Under the agreement, Myklebust faces a prison term of 6 2/3 to 20 years when he is sentenced March 6 by Circuit Judge Karl Sakamoto.

Myklebust is accused of putting the girl through an 8-hour ordeal after he kidnapped her in October 2004.

Thalia Murphy, city deputy prosecutor, said the girl approved the agreement. Murphy said the agreement was offered to spare the girl from the trauma of reliving the case.

Keith Shigetomi, Myklebust's lawyer, said his client maintained that he did not rape the girl and the sex was consensual.
