Man killed in fall from high-rise identified as visitor

The city Department of the Medical Examiner has identified a man who fell to his death early this morning from the 24th floor of the Ala Moana Hotel on Atkinson Drive as Jeremy Peterson, 32, of Snohomish, Wash.Acquaintances told police investigators that Peterson had been drinking at a bar across the street from the hotel and appeared to be intoxicated when when he climbed to the outside of an emergency exit stairwell and slipped while trying to get onto the lanai of his hotel room at about 12:03 a.m.
He was pronounced dead at 12:51 a.m.
Police said there were no obvious signs of foul play.
