New animated feature stars surfers Slater, Machado

Listen closely, children, and you shall hear ... the voices of surfers Kelly Slater, Rob Machado and Sal Masekela in the upcoming 'toon, "Surf's Up."After the success of the dancing penguins in "Happy Feet," Sony Pictures are now having the flightless birds tackle waves. Hang six, brah.
Marketing people behind the animated feature, expected to roll out next June, are having a private news conference Tuesday on the North Shore to offer press types interviews with not only the surfers lending their voices but also producer Chris Jenkins. There will also be some never-before-seen footage.
(And don't tell anyone we told you, since it's a private event, but by "North Shore," we mean Ola at Turtle Bay.)
