Ex-boyfriend hits new boyfriend with car

A 30-year-old man was arrested in Makaha yesterday after he allegedly used his car to assault his former girlfriend's new boyfriend.

Police said the new boyfriend, 33, was at his home in Makaha with his girlfriend when her ex-boyfriend drove up to the residence about 9:50 a.m. and confronted the new boyfriend.

Police said a confrontation ensued and that the former boyfriend drove his car at the new boyfriend, striking him and causing injury. Details were not released about the nature or severity of the injury. Police were called to the home and the ex-boyfriend was arrested on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder.

Complaint leads to arrest in sexual assault case

Police arrested a 39-year-old Wai'anae man yesterday as a suspect in a complaint filed on behalf of a 15-year-old girl who claimed to have been sexually assaulted by the man, who was described as a family member.

The alleged assaults took place during the period of Feb. 11, 2003, and Nov. 22 of this year, police said.

Woman arrested in forgery, theft incident

Police arrested a 35-year-old woman last night after she allegedly tried to buy two laptop computers at the CompUSA store in 'Aiea using a forged check and forged identification.

Police were called to the store and arrested the woman on suspicion of two counts of second-degree forgery, two counts of attempted second-degree theft and unauthorized possession of confidential personal information.

Man arrested in statue theft incident

Police arrested a 52-year-old 'Aiea man last night after witnesses reported seeing him steal a statue from a store on Kalakaua Avenue.

The man was arrested about 9:10 p.m. near the corner of Kuhio and Lili'uokalani avenues on suspicion of second-degree theft.

Police said the statue was valued at more than $300.
