Robbery suspect caught after hitting man

A 39-year-old man was arrested early this morning in downtown Honolulu as a suspect in the strong-arm robbery of a 36-year old man.

The younger man told police the other man approached him about 2:30 a.m. and asked for money. He said that when he refused to hand over any cash, the other man punched him in the face, took his wallet from his pocket, removed all the money from it and ran away.

Patrol officers responding to the robbery call spotted the suspect, detained him and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree robbery.

Man arrested after allegedly robbing boy

A 29-year-old man was arrested in Hale'iwa yesterday after a boy reported being robbed.

Police found the man about 9 a.m. near the corner of Kaiaka Street and Hale'iwa Road.

After the boy identified the man, he was arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery.

Sexual assault suspect enters home through unlocked door

A 24-year-old man was arrested yesterday after a 25-year-old woman told police the man entered her home between 2:30 and 3 a.m. on Sunday and sexually assaulted her.

The woman told police the man apparently entered the home via an unlocked door.

He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary and fourth-degree sexual assault.

Alleged robber caught downtown

A 23-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning after a 34-year-old man reported being robbed in downtown Honolulu.

The man who reported the incident said the other man overpowered him and took his backpack.

Patrol officers responding to the call found the suspect and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree robbery.

Police later found there was a warrant out on the suspect for an unspecified offense and arrested him for that and they reported finding drugs on the suspect when he was being taken into custody, resulting in his arrest on suspicion of third-degree promotion of dangerous drugs.

Kick to officer's groin adds to woman's troubles

A 40-year-old Waipio Acres woman was arrested yesterday evening after she allegedly threatened to stab her 20-year-old son and then kicked the responding police officer in the groin.

Police were told the woman was intoxicated when she threatened to harm her son with the knife.

The officer arrested the woman on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and was escorting her to his patrol car when she kicked him, leading to her arrest on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.
