Driver arrested after ramming car

A 37-year-old man was arrested in Waimanalo yesterday afternoon after he allegedly used his car to ram a car driven by another man.

The incident caused damage to the second car and injuries to its driver, also 37, although police did not disclose the nature of the injuries.

The driver of the first car was arrested on suspicion of first-degree criminal property damage.

Bump sets off car alarm, leads to threat and arrest

A 23-year-old man was arrested yesterday in connection with an incident in which a 34-year-old man reported being threatened after backing his car into the one owned by the younger man on Sept. 22 in Honolulu.

The older man told police the car he bumped was unattended, but its theft alarm went off and the owner returned moments later.

He said the younger man retrieved a baseball bat from the car that was bumped, came over to his car and threatened him with it.

Police were called but the man with the bat left before they arrived. Police said he was identified later and arrested yesterday on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.

Threats to ex-girlfriend lead to man's arrest

A 21-year-old man was arrested yesterday in connection with a complaint filed by his former girlfriend, who told police the man kept her from getting out of his car about 12 a.m. Sept. 20.

The woman, also 21, told police the ex-boyfriend threatened to harm her if she did not resume their relationship.

Police detectives located the former boyfriend, identified him and arrested him on suspicion of kidnapping.
