Lingle's relationship to President Bush questioned

Following the exchange on the war in Iraq, a reporter asked Lingle how close she is to President Bush. Are they good friends?Lingle said the relationship is good, and cited the national marine sanctuary in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands.
Iwase said the failure of Akaka Bill is evidence Lingle doesn't have that much influence with the administration.
