The West Oahu CaneFires benefitted from a two-run fielding error and Will Venable hit a two-run single in the fifth inning last night in a 6-3 win over the Honolulu Sharks at Hans L'Orange Park.

Takashi Maruyama pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief for the victory. Gilbert de la Vara loaded the bases with no outs in the ninth, but Neil Jamison, West Oahu's fifth pitcher, got the final three outs for the save.

NORTH SHORE 3, WAIKIKI 2

Rodney Choy Foo hit a solo homer and six pitchers combined on a four-hitter as the North Shore Honu beat the Waikiki BeachBoys, 3-2, last night at Les Murakami Stadium. Choy Foo, a 2000 Kailua High graduate, led off the second with a homer off Marco Estrada.
