Hiker rescued

Fire rescue specialists located a missing hiker off the Manana Trail in Pacific Palisades and brought him out safely this afternoon.An engine company from Waiau, Rescue 2 and the Honolulu Fire Department helicopter were involved in the rescue effort. HFD spokesman Capt. Gary Lum said the man became separated from a group of six hikers. The search started at 2:54 p.m. and the man was airlifted out about an hour later. No serious injuries were reported.
