Tomorrow is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 7 general election.
Your voter registration form must be received by the clerk of the county where you reside no later than 4:30 p.m. More than 650,000 voters were registered before the Sept. 23 primary election, but only about four out of every 10 actually voted.
In the general election, winning candidates from each political party will face off against each other in most races, and the top vote-getters from the primary will run against one another for nonpartisan offices. At stake will be everything from U.S. Senate and House seats, to governor and lieutenant governor, Board of Education, a full slate of races for state House and Senate, Office of Hawaiian Affairs trustees, and council and mayoral races on the Neighbor Islands. Also on the ballot will be proposed amendments to the state Constitution and the Honolulu city charter.
Voters must re-register if they have moved or changed their name. Registered voters unable to get to the polls on election day can apply to vote early, by requesting a mail-in ballot by Oct. 31 or visiting a walk-in poll site from Oct. 24 to Nov. 4.
