High surf advisory for north shores

A high surf advisory is in effect for the north-facing shores of

O'ahu. Surf this morning is expected to be in the 5- to 8-foot range, rising to 12 to 15 feet by this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Surf along west-facing shores will be 2 to 4 feet this morning, rising to 6 to 10 feet by afternoon.

Surf along east-facing shores will be 2 to 4 feet.

Surf along south-facing shores will be 1 to 3 feet.

Forecasters expect reinforcing swells from the north and west to continue into the weekend.
