State Labor Department sets small business workshops

The State of Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations' Occupational Safety and Health Division has scheduled six statewide safety and health training workshops around the state for small businesses.

The workshops will feature a panel of private sector experts who will provide information on topics, such as, understanding workers compensation, setting up a drug-free workplace, reducing injuries and illness, and emergency preparedness.

Workshop locations and dates:

— Honolulu, Oct. 16, Royal Hawaiian Hotel, 2259 Kalakaua Ave.

— Waipahu, Oct. 17, Filpino Community Center, 94-428 Mokuola St., Suite 302.

— Kona, Oct. 19, Sheraton Keauhou Resort, 78-128 Ehukai St.

— Hilo, Oct. 20, Naniloa Hotel, 93 Banyan Drive.

— Kauai, Oct. 23, Aloha Beach Resort, 3-5920 Kuhio Highway, Kapaa.

— Maui, Oct. 25, Maui Arts & Cultural Center, One Cameron Way, Kahului.
