Arrests made in armed robbery of taxi

An 18-year-old man and a boy were arrested yesterday after they robbed a taxi driver at knife point, Honolulu police said.

At 10:15 last night, a 45-year-old taxi driver picked up the pair at the Kalihi Shopping Center and drove them to the Sand Island area. Upon arrival, the 18-year-old pulled a knife, held it to the taxi driver's throat and demanded money.

The pair then got out and ran away. The taxi driver called police.

Responding patrol officers searched the area and arrested the 18-year-old and the boy on suspicion of first degree robbery.

Driver arrested after he gets out of car, punches another driver

A 20-year-old man was arrested this morning after he punched another man while stopped in traffic.

At 6:45 a.m., the 19-year-old was driving two kids to school on Kamehameha Highway in Pearl City when he stopped behind the 20-year-old. The pair knew one another, police said.

The 20-year-old got out of his car with a baseball bat, walked up the 19-year-old's driver's side window and punched him in the face. The 20-year-old got back into his car and drove off, police said.

The 19-year-old told police where to find the 20-year-old and he was arrested at work on suspicion of breaking into a car and terroristic threatening.

Man arrested for kidnapping ex-girlfriend

A 30-year-old man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly kidnapped and assaulted his ex-girlfriend in September.

A 36-year-old woman accepted a ride from her 30-year-old ex-boyfriend at 4 a.m. on September 17. The man refused to let her out of the car and then hit her, police said.

The man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of kidnapping.
