Snapped utility pole closes stretch of Middle Street

Police are reporting that a one-vehicle accident that damaged a utility pole has closed Middle Street between Kahauiki Street and Rose Street in both directions.Traffic is being routed around the scene where a truck apparently struck a Hawaiian Electric Co. (HECO) pole, leaving the pole hanging by wires, according to a Honolulu Police Department report. Information about how long the closure will be in place was not available.
