Former coach at HPU 'shocked' by allegations

Lee Nobuo Anzai's former baseball coach at Hawaii Pacific University, Allan Sato, said yesterday that he was "very shocked" by the allegations.

"Academically he proved a lot of people wrong. I don't have anything negative to say about him," Sato said. "As far as drugs, I am shocked. Wow. I'm shocked."

Anzai is a former All-State baseball player at Kaiser High School and was recruited straight out of high school in 1996 to play for HPU. Anzai was senior captain of the HPU baseball team in 1999.
