Pole repairs will disrupt Middle Street traffic

Advertiser Staff

Traffic on Middle Street will be disrupted during rush hour today while the Hawaiian Electric Company replaces a utility pole hit by a truck earlier this afternoon.

Police closed Middle Street between Kahauiki Street and Rose Street following the accident, which left part of the pole hanging from the wires. The street will be reopened, but contraflow lanes will be set up while HECO repairs the pole. HECO officials said no power outage occurred, so the traffic lights at the intersections should be working fine

The work is expected to be completed by the early morning.
