Hawai'i not on Kiplinger's '50 smartest places' list
Advertiser Staff
Hawai'i went zero for 50 in the latest edition of Kiplinger's Success With Your Money with the state failing to merit any mention in an article titled "50 Smartest Places to Live."The personal finance magazine considered a number of factors in coming up with its ranking. Two of the biggest criteria for being included were cost of living and places where an attractive home could be bought for $300,000 to $400,000.
Topping the list was Nashville, Tennessee.
Hawai'i residents shouldn't feel alone, though. About 25 states didn't have any cities mentioned.
