Pope's sacrifice fly lifts Sharks over Honu, 9-8

Van Pope's sacrifice fly with the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the ninth carried the Honolulu Sharks to a 9-8 victory last night over the North Shore Honu in a Hawaii Winter Baseball game at Les Murakami Stadium.

Brian Bixler, Eric Campbell and Ryan Finan all singled to start the ninth for the Sharks (4-3).

Keiyo Aomatsu hit a three-run homer for the Honu (5-2).

CANEFIRES 7, BEACHBOYS 4

John Otness' three-run double spiced a five-run third inning that propelled the West Oahu CaneFires to victory at Hans L'Orange Park.

Chris Rahl added an RBI double and Mike Stodolka a run-scoring single for the CaneFires (3-4), who took a 6-2 lead after three innings.

Dexter Fowler hit an RBI triple and a two-run single for the BeachBoys (2-5).
