Workshop on exporting strategies set for Nov. 10

Advertiser Staff

The Hawaii Pacific Export Council has scheduled an "Exporting Boot Camp" Nov. 10 to help local companies that want to expand into overseas markets.

"The boot camp is not about sitting and listening. Participants will walk away with a skeleton plan on how to begin exporting," the Council said in a news release. "It's a practical, hands on and how-to guide through the steps: analysis, target market selection, setting objectives, building a marketing strategy and how to work with reps and buyers after the sale."

Speakers will include Steve Creaven an export consultant and former U.S. Commercial Service officer, Chuck Steilen, marketing and exporting professor at Hawaii Pacific University, and Paul Brewbaker, chief economist at Bank of Hawaii.

The workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kapiolani Community College. The fee is $75 and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. The deadline to register is Nov. 1. For more information, call 737-1904.
