He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawai'i.

An Army Task Force Lightning Soldier assigned to 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, was killed and two others were wounded Oct. 11 as a result of enemy action while conducting operations in Kirkuk Province in Iraq.

The wounded Soldiers were transported to a coalition forces hospital.
