Man accused of using metal pipe in fight

A 40-year-old man was arrested late yesterday afternoon after he allegedly beat a 20-year old man with a metal pipe.

Police were told that the two men got into a confrontation near the intersection of University Avenue and Kapiolani Boulevard about 5:50 p.m. and that the older one beat the younger man with a pipe before getting into his car and driving off.

The older man, who has no local address, was located on Olokele Avenue in Kapahulu and arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault as well as driving without a license.

Man caught driving stolen car on North Shore

A 39-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning after he was spotted driving a stolen car on the North Shore.

A police officer first saw the man standing next to a blue Honda at Kawela Bay near the Turtle Bay resort. He said the man notice him approaching, got into the Honda very quickly and drove off.

Police said the officer was able to get the license plate number as the car drove away , checked with police dispatchers and learned a 35-year-old man had previously reported the car stolen.

An all-points-bulletin was issued for the car and a second police officer reported seeing the car in Waialua about 9:40 a.m. He was able to pull the car over at Waialua Beach Road near the intersection with a cane-haul road and arrested the driver on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

Counterfeit $100 bills lead to woman's arrest

A 45-year-old Mililani woman was arrested at the Mililani Wal-Mart store about 6 a.m. yesterday after she allegedly tried to purchase items by using a counterfeit $100 bill.

Police were called and arrested the woman on suspicion of first-degree forgery.
