Lingle releases $7 million in grants

Gov. Linda Lingle has released a total of $7 million in state grants-in-aid to the YWCA of Laniakea to renovate the Laniakea facility on Richards Street, YMCA of Leeward for capital improvement projects and Goodwill Industries of Hawai`i, Inc. for the construction of the `Ohana Career and Learning Center in Kapolei.The YWCA received $3 million; YMCA Leeward received $2 million to expand its programs at the old sugar mill in Waipahu; Goodwill Industries's will use its $2 million grant to support the construction of the `Ohana Career and Learning Center on 2.2 acres in the Kapolei Business Park.
