A 37-year-old Waiau man was arrested yesterday afternoon after he allegedly punched his 51-year-old roommate in the face, fracturing the roommate's jaw in the process, police said.

Officers went to the men's home about 4:20 p.m. yesterday and arrested the younger man on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Woman arrested for assault on arresting officer

A 41-year-old Wahiawa woman was arrested last night after a police officer reported being assaulted by the woman.

Police said the officer went to the woman's home on Ohai Street about 9:30 p.m. to take her into custody based on claims that she violated the terms of a temporary restraining order.

Police said the officer was escorting the woman to his car when she began to kick him, resulting in injuries to his leg.

She was then arrested on suspicion of assault upon a law enforcement officer.

Argument over noise escalates into alleged knife threat

A 39-year-old man was arrested in downtown Honolulu last night following a dispute over loud noise coming from his Pauahi Street apartment.

A 54-year-old man said he went to the younger man's apartment to complain about the noise and got into an argument, during which the younger man pulled a knife and made stabbing motions at him.

Police were called to the apartment about 11:25 p.m. and arrested the younger man on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.

Man, 18, arrested driving stolen moped

Police arrested an 18-year-old Kapolei man in 'Ewa Villages last night after finding him operating a moped in a city park about 11:40 p.m.

Police said a patrol sergeant was making checks of the parks in 'Ewa Villages when he spotted the man riding the moped without its lights on, often an indication that the moped might have been stolen, police said.

They said the officer checked on the moped's registration, learned that a 24-year-old man had reported it stolen and arrested the man he found riding the moped on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

The officer who made the arrest reported being "challenged" initially by a group of young men the moped rider had stopped to talk to before his arrest.
