Friday morning commute busier than usual

Advertiser Staff

Traffic usually lightens up a bit on Fridays, but that is not the case today.

Traffic heading into town from West O'ahu begins to back up at this hour at the Waikele Shopping Center and is bumper-to-bumper through the H-1/H-2 merge. Things lighten up a bit after the Kaonohi Street overpass but slow to a crawl again at the Middle Street merge.

The congestion continues until once past the Kinau Street exit ramp.

The drive in from Hawaii Kai is going well at this time but traffic slows at the 11th Avenue on-ramp in Kaimuki and remains slow until once past the Downtown exits.

There are no major problems at this time driving in from the windward side.
