A 'Dream' chance for teen actors

By Wayne Harada
Advertiser Entertainment Writer

Teens 13 through 18 are invited to sign up for theater classes that will eventually evolve into a spring production of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the Hawai'i Theatre.

The project, a partnership between the Hawai'i Theatre and Maryknoll High School, will involve training and rehearsals for a Young Actors' Ensemble that will stage "Dream" at 7:30 p.m. May 10 at the Hawai'i Theatre.

Classes will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, from Oct. 16 through May 17, at Maryknoll High School, room 215.

Project coordinator is Hester Kamin, new education director at the Hawai'i Theatre Center, who is expanding her drama education reach to the community at large. She previously was drama education associate with Honolulu Theatre for Youth.

To sign up for classes or for details, call Kamin at 732-0358.
