Turn off the cell phones, vacate that living-room couch and head for the Talk Story Festival, a celebration of good old-fashioned storytelling, continuing at Ala Moana Beach Park's McCoy Pavilion.

Tonight's theme is Epic Adventures; hours are from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tomorrow's theme is Tales 'n Tunes; it's from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

And it's all free. There's a free storytelling workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. tomorrow, too, featuring Alton Chung, Erica Lann-Clark and the festival's organizer/director, Jeff Gere. 692-5751.

For a $5 cover charge, you can go to tonight's afterparty, from 10 p.m. at 184 N. King (near River Street, upstairs). Chat with storytellers, tell your own story at the open mike.
