Police double emergency manpower

Advertiser Staff

Honolulu Police Chief Boisse Correa said police have doubled the manpower at all major intersections to direct traffic on O'ahu and more officers are being brought in tonight.

City officals said Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann was contacted at 5:30 a.m. in Korea and notified of the quake. He offered to assist Big Island Mayor Harry Kim with anything that is needed, officials said.
