Kaua'i county reports no damage, injuries

LAWAI, Kaua'i — There are no reports of damage or injuries on Kaua'i, according to Mark Marshall, Kaua'i civil defense administrator.

He said residents are flooding the agency and 911 with calls after feeling a 6.5-magnitute earthquake off South Kona earlier this morning.

He added that cell phone service is not down on the island, but the lines are overwhelmed.

So far, Marshall has not heard of any problems on the island's roadways or at the airport.
