Mauna Lani Resort open for business following quake

Advertiser Staff

Mauna Lani Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii said it is open for business and is continuing to accept guests following yesterday's earthquake.

"The resort's pool, beach, golf, spa, restaurants and other amenities are operational. We are thankful that our guests and employees are safe," said Kurt Matsumoto, Mauna Lani's general manager.

"There is no real visible structural damage but because the safety of our guests is our number one concern, we are currently not occupying the hotel's top three floors until further assessment this afternoon," Matsumoto said. "We should know by later today or early tomorrow, regarding the status of opening up the rest of the hotel to customers."
