Taxi driver robbed near Diamond Head

Police opened a first-degree robbery investigation after a taxi driver reported being held up by two men late Saturday night near Diamond Head.

The Driver told police he picked the two men up and drove them to Diamond Head as instructed.

He said that when they arrived there about 10:50 p.m., one of the men held a sharp object to his neck and demanded money while the other hit him with a cane and took his cell phone and two-way radio microphone.

The two men were last seen running from the area.

Roommate arrested after fight

A 44-year-old Waikiki man was arrested late yesterday afternoon after he allegedly smashed his roommate on the head with what police described only as a "dangerous instrument."

Police were told the two men were arguing about 5:50 p.m. when one of the men picked up an object and struck his roommate, 41, on the head, resulting in a deep gash.

The injured roommate was taken to the hospital in stable condition and the older roommate was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Sibling arrested after cutting brother with knife

An 18-year-old man was arrested late Saturday afternoon after he allegedly cut his brother, 23, with a knife following an argument.

Police were called to the men's cane street apartment about 5:35 p.m. and arrested the younger brother on suspicion of second-degree assault.
