Surf hits nine feet, but dropping quickly

Surf along north-facing shores was expected to reach 6 to 9 feet overnight, but will be on its way down today to 3 to 5 feet, according to the National Weather Service.

Elsewhere, look for surf today of 1 to 3 feet along west- and east-facing shores and 2 to 4 feet along O'ahu's south shore.

Another northwest swell is expected to arrive by late tomorrow. Surf produced by this new swell is will likely approach the high surf advisory threshold of 15 feet along north-facing shores on Wednesday. This surf will slowly subside Thursday.

Meanwhile, a late season south swell is expected to arrive Wednesday, and continue through Thursday.
