Ten flights rescheduled for today

Advertiser Staff

All 10 flights that had been cancelled yesterday on U.S. Airways, American, Northwest, Delta, Japan and New Zealand have been rescheduled and are departing today, state Department of Transportation officials said.

Honolulu International Airport is fully operational, Scott Ishikawa said, and passengers are going through all of the security and agricultural checkpoints that were down yesterday from lack of power.

They also can use the regular electronic jetways instead of manual stairs to board their flights.

Transportation officials are considering installing additional back-up generators following yesterday's earthquake that left the airport running on emergency power.

On the Big Island, a bridge near Honoka'a is impassable, Ishikawa said, but state officials are conducting a more extensive structural assessment today.
