OIA Red football playoff matchups set

The O'ahu Interscholastic Association Red football tournament first-round matchups have been set, the league announced Tuesday.

On Friday, West sixth seed 'Aiea will play at East fifth seed Castle, 6:30 p.m. The game will be televised by OC-16.

West fifth seed Kapolei will play East sixth seed Kailua at Mililani about 6:30 p.m. Saturday. That game also will be televised by OC-16. A JV game between Kapolei and Kalaheo will precede at 4 p.m.

In another JV first-round game, Radford will play at Moanalua, 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The OIA White concludes regular season play this weekend with three of the top four spots still undetermined. First-round action starts Oct. 27 at the top two seeded teams home sites.

Here are the pairings for the following week's quarterfinals.

Oct. 27

At Wai'anae

Farrington vs. Wai'anae (JV), 5 p.m.

Winner of 'Aiea-Castle vs. Wai'anae (varsity) to follow JV

At Mililani

Farrington vs. Mililani, 6:30 p.m. (varsity, TV)

Oct. 28

At Kahuku

Mililani vs. Kahuku, 4 p.m. (JV)

Kapolei-Kailua winner vs. Kahuku, 6:30 p.m. (varsity, TV)

At Castle

Kapolei-Kalaheo winner vs. Castle, 4 p.m. (JV)

At Mililani

Moanalua-Radford winner vs. Leilehua, 4 p.m. (JV)

Leilehua vs. McKinley, 6:30 p.m. (varsity, TV)
