More wet weather in the forecast

Be prepared for a few showers over the next several days and an even wetter weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

A weather system that has stalled over the state will keep winds on the light side over all islands through the remainder of this week, forecasters said.

Clouds and showers will favor the interiors of all islands during afternoon and evening hours for the rest of the work week.

Another weather system approaching the islands should arrive by Friday, bringing with it a chance of thundershowers and heavier rains Saturday and

Sunday.

Here's how things look for the west of the work week:

Today, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs 80 to 87. South winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight, partly cloudy. Isolated showers early in the evening, then scattered showers in the late evening and overnight. Lows 67 to 74. Light winds. Chance of rain 50 percent. Thursday, partly cloudy with scattered showers. Highs 80 to 88. Light winds. Chance of rain 50 percent. Thursday night, partly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Lows 67 to 73. Light winds. Chance of rain 50 percent. Friday, partly cloudy in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Locally heavy rainfall possible in the afternoon. Highs 80 to 87. Northeast winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 50

percent. Friday night, mostly cloudy with showers likely and isolated thunderstorms.

Locally heavy rainfall possible in the evening. Lows 67 to 73. Northeast winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
