Artists speak out today at Pegge Hopper Gallery

By Catherine E. Toth
Advertiser Staff Writer

The artists of a new exhibit will host an informal discussion about their work from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Pegge Hopper Gallery.

The exhibit, "Seeing Red," is a forum for designers to speak out about global issues — from the Iraq war to Hawai'i's public schools — through graphic arts. Thirty-five local, national and international graphic designers are participating, expressing their passion and anger about current issues through works in red and black to commemorate International Peace Day.

The exhibit is up through Oct. 26, before traveling to Pittsburgh, Penn.

The event is free.
