Man accused of firearm, drug crimes

Advertiser Staff

A 34-year-old man was charged yesterday with being a felon in possession of a firearm and two drug-related offenses.

Tony B. Leaai, who has no permanent local address, also is being held on an outstanding $75,000 warrant unrelated to his arrest Monday in Wahiawa.

Leaai has an initial appearance scheduled at District Court today on two firearm counts and two counts of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug. Bail for those offenses is $50,000.

A semi-automatic pistol and ammunition clip were found in a car that Leaai was in Monday, police said.

Police had been looking for Leaai for questioning on an assault complaint filed earlier in the day when they stopped his car on Walker Avenue near Pine Street.
