Viloria gets rematch for title on Nov. 18

Waipahu's Brian Viloria will get a chance to reclaim his World Boxing Council light flyweight title when fights Mexico's Omar Nino Romero Nov. 18 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Viloria (19-1-0, 12 knockouts) lost his title in a unanimous decision to Romero (24-2-1) on Aug. 10 in Las Vegas.

The scheduled 12-round rematch is part of a card that features a main event between Manny Pacquiao of Philippines and Erik Morales of Mexico for the WBC International super featherweight title.

The card will be show on HBO pay-per-view.

OIA TEAM, INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS TODAY

The O'ahu Interscholastic Association team and individual bowling championships will be held today at Leeward Bowl.

In the girls' team championships, the top four qualifying teams are 'Aiea and Mililani from the West and Moanalua and Kalani from the East. In the boys, the teams are Waipahu and 'Aiea from the West and Kalani and Castle from the East.

The top 30 boys and top 30 girls from each division qualify for the individual championships.

The matches run from 9 a.m. to about 4 p.m.

No admission fee is charged.

The state tournament is Nov. 9 to 10 on Kaua'i.
