Bank of Hawaii recognized for small business lending

The U.S. Small Business Administration's Hawai'i District Office has named Bank of Hawaii as the SBA Lender of the Year for its guaranteed loan program during fiscal year 2006.

Bank of Hawaii ranked No. 1 with 143 loans valued at $9.4 million.

The SBA each year recognizes banks for their small business lending in two categories. Bank of Hawaii claimed top honors in category 1, while Central Pacific Bank took first place in category 2 with 50 small business loans valued at $3.1 million.

First Hawaiian Bank was recognized by the SBA for making the most 504 Fixed Asset Loans. The bank produced 37 loans valued at $4.2 million.
