Greenpeace expedition ship sailing to Honolulu

Advertiser Staff

A Greenpeace ship, Esperanza, which is set to arrive in Honolulu Monday, will be greeted by Hawai'i Lieutenant Governor James R. "Duke" Aiona. The Esperanza is taking part in Greenpeace's global Defending Our Oceans expedition, which was launched in Cape Town, South Africa in November. Defending Our Oceans has taken Esperanza and her crew to nearly all of the world's oceans to investigate marine concerns ranging from pollution to over-fishing.

In addition to the lieutenant governor's welcome, set for 2 p.m. Monday Pier 9, Aloha Tower Marketplace, free open-boat tours will be offered to the public 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
