All long-term patients back at Hale Ho'ola Hamakua

Advertiser Staff

Hale Ho'ola Hamakua in Honoka'a today moved its remaining 41 evacuated long-term care patients back into its facility.

The residents are now in the dining/activity room and rehabilitation room until permanent repairs are made to residential areas.

Hale Ho'ola Hamakua sustained about $4.5 million worth of damage during Sunday's earthquakes when pipes broke and the hospital was flooded. Some 49 people were

evacuated nearby to a former clinic that had been renovated into classrooms.
