Paraglider dies at Makapu'u

A paraglider in his 40s died today after getting caught in power lines near MakapuÇu.

The accident happened about 10 a.m., when the man was attempting to land. Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the Honolulu Emergency Services Department, said the man got caught in the lines, then fell about 35 feet to the ground. He was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in extremely critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.
