Pedestrian critical after Waipi'o accident

A pedestrian was critically injured today when he was struck by a pickup truck on Kamehameha Highway, 71 feet east of Kipapa Street in Waipi'o.

The injured man, 27, of an 'Ewa Beach address was taken to The Queen's Medical Center. The accident was reported to police at about 12:15 p.m.

According to police, the man was outside a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a 2006 Nissan Frontier that was turning left onto Kamehamehameha Highway.

The 56-year-old Mililani woman who was driving the truck was not injured, police said.
