Big Island police looking into alleged threats

Kona Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed alleged threats made by a Big Island council member against a 54-year-old man Sunday at Pualani Estates in Kailua, Kona.

Big Island police have initiated a criminal complaint identifying a Hawaii County Council member as the suspect.

Police ask that anyone who may have witnessed the incident call Det. Bradley Freitas at 326-4646, extension 228, or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.

Police did not release the identity of the council member.
